Why is the sea salty?

WALT: I am writing an explanation writing
Why is the sea salty?

Seventy percent of the world is covered in water. Most of the water is salty. Why is the sea salty? In this explanation, I will provide you why the sea is salty.

The salt in the ocean, comes from the soil and rocks on the land. When it rains the water flows through the soil and through the rocks. The rocks contains a chemical called salt.Much of the water eventually flows into the sea evaporates into the rivers and to the sea (Ocean).

When it is a hot day, water from the sea evaporates into the sky, and forms clouds. When the evaporation takes place, the salt is left behind.

Over millions, and millions of years, salt has been running through the rivers and seas. That is why the sea is salty.

Water Cycle (Explanation)

Water Cycle

When the earth was created it had the same amount water as today. Water is important for survival. I will provide you with an explanation about the water cycle.

The water cycle is also called hydrological cycle. On a hot day water from the grounds, lakes, rivers also seas, is heated by the sun and evaporates into the sky. The water evaporates in a forms into clouds by a process called condensation. When the clouds become heavy and falls down as rain it is helped by the forces of gravity. If frozen rain and comes down as sleet or snow.

Water reaches the ground and flows across the land until it reaches the rivers, lakes , streams and seas. Some water also sinks into the ground. The water cycle begins all over again by the evaporation.
